Clean | Green | Sustainable

About

Clean >>>  Free from pollution; unadulterated; pure

Green >>>  Environmentally sound or beneficial

Sustainable >>> Capable of being continued with minimal long-term effect on the environment

Hello. My name is Matthew Koehler and I live in Missoula, Montana. The views expressed in this blog are my own, unless otherwise noted.  I’m interested in a future that is more sustainable. I simply believe more of the same is not an option, as the current global  financial crisis illustrates perfectly.

By hosting this blog I’m not implying that I lead the greenest life in the world. I fully acknowledge that my current lifestyle is not necessarily “sustainable.” I’ve certainly taken steps in the right direction but there is always room for improvement and I welcome that challenge. The definitions for clean, green and sustainable (above) are used as I found them in a dictionary and are not meant to be the only definitions.

My intent with this blog is to share, explore, learn about and promote the ideas, policies and actions that I believe will help put our region, country and world on a more sustainable path.  At the same time, I will not shy away from highlighting policies and actions that stand in the way of a more sustainable future.  Your comments, ideas, knowledge and insights are always welcomed.

I’m not very tech savvy so it may take me a while to figure out this whole wordpress thing. Please be patient. If you have ideas on how to improve this blog, please feel free to email me.  Thanks.

JC, Thanks for the tip. I’m continuing to look into the paper industry’s “alternative fuels” tax credit scandal and hope to have something up on the blog next week. Thanks!
